Our basic self-preservation instinct often leads us to want to win by overpowering another (the fight response). We may also have found that survival requires taking a back seat or hiding (the flight response). Empowerment transcends these basic instincts when we offer the space for both self and other to be accepted, to be valued, to be seen and heard.
In mindful presence,
Go and love someone exactly as they are. And then watch how quickly they transform into the greatest, truest version of themselves. When one feels seen and appreciated in their own essence, one is instantly empowered. —Wes Angelozzi
